Reminiscent of Dragon Ball characters getting stronger, a recent clip shows a player applying as many buffs as possible before jumping into a boss fight.
Elden ring It’s an iconic title for many reasons, but one of the mainstays of its design is the incredibly challenging boss fights. From Malenia to Mohg and all the bosses in between, many Elden ring fights will test a player’s patience, knowledge and skill.
Because of the high level of difficulty, some players go to extreme lengths to prepare for fights. Preparation varies in the game, with some Elden ring players cultivating ridiculous amounts of runes for others looking for the best armor and weapons for the fight they are facing.
However, there is another way for players to prepare for fights: buffs. In the game, there are several buffs that a player can apply to their character; these buffs can have numerous effects on the character, and there is at least one buff that can improve the effectiveness of each playstyle or build. Much like a player choosing the best colossal weapon for their Elden ring building strength, the right buffs can make a lot of difference in fights. Recently, one player took this philosophy to the extreme, applying an insane amount of buffs before entering a wall of fog.
Reddit user BambaTallKing captured the moment their host started applying what is likely every buff they’ve acquired so far. The host actually applied so many buffs that they had to stop and restore their mana midway through the buff, and even added Elden ring‘s Flask of Wondrous Physick to get even stronger. The result was an average Elden ring character transforming into a one-man army, strengthening himself before a fight in a way reminiscent of the sovereign anime.
However, unfortunate news came when other Reddit users pointed out flaws in the player’s buff strategy. For example, one user pointed out that most buffs used would cancel each other out or replace previously applied buffs. Another user noticed that when the player finished applying buffs, many of the previously released buffs would expire. Yet another user joked that the player likely followed this entire buff by dying immediately, to which BambaTallKing replied that the player actually died almost instantly.
While it’s really disheartening to hear that not only were the buffs ineffective, but that the player died almost immediately anyway, it was hilarious to see a player who at first seemed so prepared for the fight. Perhaps the player could benefit from a spell that Elden ring bosses instead of a series of buffs, but maybe they’re committed to their powerup path.
Elden ring is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
