Ronaldo scored his 23rd goal of the season in the game at Old Trafford, catching an exquisite Nemanja Matic pass and providing a stunning finish over Edouard Mendy for the equaliser.
The 37-year-old was also praised for his effort, pace of work and leadership at Old Trafford.
One example that caught the eye was Ronaldo giving Rashford positional instructions when the 24-year-old appeared to be taking up the wrong space in the first half.
With Chelsea’s Thiago Silva on the ball, Ronaldo turned to gesture and let Rashford know where he needed to be.
The image was posted by @Utd_Analytics and received a lot of reactions – mostly negatives directed at Rashford, another underwhelming display.
Happened all night buddy. terrible performance

Ronaldo then started following himself on the left wing, as Rashford was not interested in listening.

Rashford genuinely looks like he’s given up, perhaps it’s worth noting that if he doesn’t do it with Ten Hag next season he needs to look elsewhere.

I was in the game mate, let me just say the rashford didn’t even try or bother, it was awful. Cr7 was all over the field, he was the leader without him we would be doomed and he was supposed to be the problem.

It’s going to be very difficult for Marcus to come back from this. His form over the last 18 months was atrocious, which ended up hurting his reputation among fans. I hope he can humble himself enough to start developing his game again, but I don’t see that happening tbh

When even Ronaldo has to tell you how to defend yourself, it shows how little effort you’re putting in. Marcus needs to spend less time blaming the fans and more time putting in a proper change. material number 10. It has one more szn.

he doesn’t even bother
Ronaldo covered him during the game most of the time

Rashford was replaced on day 79 by Juan Mata and had a short run to hug Tuchel.
But fans claimed he put more effort into that gesture than he did on the pitch and said it was “the fastest he’s moved in months”.

Looking poorly, Rashford has scored just five times in 30 games this season and hasn’t found the net since January.
