Kylian Mbappé considered ‘one of the most selfish players’ after refusing to pass to Lionel Messi

Kylian Mbappe was accused of being selfish and refusing to move on to Lionel Messi in a dramatic 3-3 draw with Strasbourg.

Mbappé scored twice for the newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions, who relinquished a two-goal lead to draw with European pursuers Strasbourg.

Marco Verratti scored an own goal in the 75th minute before Anthony Caci scored an equalizing goal in the 92nd minute for the hosts.

Mbappé is PSG’s top scorer this season with 35 goals, while he also has 23 assists in 43 games across all competitions.

But many believe the World Cup winner was playing for himself on Friday night, ignoring Messi on two occasions.

At the end of the first half, Mbappé had the ball on the left and went for the defender.

But PSG developed an overload, with Neymar and Messi arriving from outside the area.

Messi was free, in the kind of space and position he absolutely thrives on, but Mbappé decided to go it alone and was smothered by two centre-backs.

He ended up on deck, having wasted a very good situation. This has generated a lot of criticism on social media.

There was also a second occurrence in the downtime that also caused a stir. Neymar pressed well to get the ball back and Mbappé got the ball in a dangerous area.

Messi was free again on the right side, but Mbappé shot early and shot over the bar.

To make matters worse, this was when PSG were leading 3-2. Minutes later, Strasbourg equalized to claim the tie.

Messi has provided four assists for Messi in the league this season, but his decision-making was a little suspect at the aforementioned moments.
