Now, thanks to designer John Fluevog, fans will be able to walk the boulevards wearing the same awesome officer boots that Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck sported in “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” They will retail for $399.
Fluevog collaborated with Paramount to offer a futuristic vision of Starfleet footwear that the series’ actors will wear when the warp engine is activated. Fluevog is an avid follower of all things “Star Trek” and its benevolent version of the 22nd to 24th centuries, so his union with one of the most beloved sci-fi franchises of all time makes perfect sense. Fluevog designs boots, loafers, sandals and a variety of other shoes for men and women. Its 24 stores around the world provide cool steps for rock stars, artists and celebrities of all kinds. Now, he’s joined the production team of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” to create the stylish officers’ slippers that will appear onscreen throughout the rookie season.
As part of the company’s Manifold Witness family of boots, these “Star Trek”-themed accessories are thoughtfully crafted with supple leather and stretchy uppers. A full leather harness and metal-finished “Star Trek” delta insignia on the ankle enhances the sci-fi feel.
“The original ‘Star Trek’ costume is so iconic, including those Cuban-style boots,” Bernadette Croft, costume designer for “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” said in a statement. “It was an honor to partner with Fluevog and give the boots an updated look. The elastic back makes it easy for our actors to fit in and the rubber soles are shock absorbent, which comes in handy on the studio’s concrete floor. soft yet durable. Eager fans were treated to a preview and pre-order session of these stylish sci-fi boots in gray or black during the recent Star Trek: Mission Chicago event that aired to Earth April 8-10.
The official Starfleet boot will be officially available for purchase in unisex gray or black at all Fluevog stores later this year as part of the Fall/Winter 2022 collection and online at Fluevog.com.
