Modder Elden Ring Is Trying To Make Multiplayer Perfect By Removing Disconnects After Death

YouTuber LukeYui is working on a mod for Elden Ring that makes multiplayer easier by removing disconnects after death.

Elden Ring’s co-op works in the same way as other FromSoft games, allowing players to team up with others via summon signals and then disappear after defeating a boss or if one of the players is killed.

This was criticized a bit in Elden Ring, thanks to the size of the game and how some players want to hang out with their friends to experience the Midlands. YouTuber LukeYui is working on a mod that aims to fix this by making multiplayer simpler and removing some of the more annoying elements of how it works.

Two videos showing the mod were posted on LukeYui’s YouTube. One shows seamless multiplayer in action, with the co-op player appearing without the use of a summoning signal or Furlcalling Finger Remedy. The main player then dies to the Tree Sentinel (vibe, by the way) and is able to rejoin the game without disconnecting from the game.

The second video shows some more of the features that can be expected from the mod, including becoming a spectator when dying during a boss fight to maintain the challenge, voting on where to fast travel on the map, and waypoints being synced between the two players.

LukeYui describes the mod in the first video as a “mod that removes all limits from multiplayer and allows connections to persist after death. Play with friends from the tutorial to the end of the game, with synced progress and no restarts or interruptions.”

As for when the mod will be released, here’s what LukeYui said in his latest demo: “I still have some work to do, thanks for your patience. Elden Ring update 1.04 has caused some setbacks, but I’m getting back on track. The mod needs to be more stable and some more missing features need to be added before a full release.”
