Odds, 2022 PGA Championship Picks: Tiger Woods Predictions By Advanced Model That Got The Masters Final Right

Tiger Woods had a quick start at this year’s Masters, but ended up pushing through the weekend to finish in 47th place. After a month off, he is expected to play for the second time this year when the 2022 PGA Championship, golf’s second major, kicks off Thursday at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa. Woods played a nine-hole practice session at Southern Hills over the weekend and told reporters he feels stronger going into the 2022 PGA Championship than he does Augusta National.

Woods is 50-1 at the latest 2022 PGA Championship odds on Caesars Sportsbook. He is still well behind the top contenders for the 2022 PGA Championship on the PGA odds board, however, with co-favorites Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm at 11-1. Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas are both leaving at 14-1. Before securing your 2022 PGA Championship picks, be sure to view the golf predictions and leaderboard designed from SportsLine’s proven computer model.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been on a roll since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, it has raised nearly $7,500 on its best bets since then, hitting tournament after tournament.

At the 2022 Masters, McClure’s model was all over Scottie Scheffler’s first career major championship win over the weekend. The model also got the exact position of Tiger Woods in the Augusta National before the start of the tournament (47th). Additionally, McClure’s best bets included Collin Morikawa’s 2021 Open Championship win, although he was listed as a massive 40-1 long-term.

This same model also nailed eight majors entering the weekend. Anyone who followed him saw massive returns.

Now that the 2022 PGA Championship field is taking shape, SportsLine has simulated the event 10,000 times, and the results have been astounding. Head over to SportsLine now to view the projected 2022 PGA Championship leaderboard.

The model’s 2022 PGA Championship top predictions

A big shock the model is asking for at the 2022 PGA Championship: McIlroy, 20-time PGA Tour champion and a top favorite, stumbles across Southern Hills and barely makes the top 10. Few golfers have had as much overall success as the 33-year-old of Northern Ireland in the last decade, but that hasn’t translated into great success recently.

He hasn’t won a major tournament since 2014, which means he’s had nearly 30 winless cracks in one since then. He shot several dazzling rounds this year, including a fourth round 64 at Augusta and a fourth round 66 at the Players Championship. Still, putting together four top-tier rounds has been the challenge, and McClure’s model is fading from McIlroy for his 2022 PGA Championship stakes.

The model also revealed where Tiger Woods will finish in the 2022 PGA Championship. When Woods won the 2007 PGA Championship at Southern Hills, he managed to dominate the field with a 63 in the second round that tied the course record. He won the tournament by two strokes, but at this stage of his career, he’s much more of a field manager than a player who can dominate the field.

Southern Hills has also been redesigned in the 15 years since Woods’ victory, and Gil Hanse’s work has been praised for staying true to Perry Maxwell’s original design. Woods will have to get over the fact that he is no longer one of the longest hitters on the tour. Is he healthy enough to have another strong week after his February 2021 car accident? The model also targets three golfers with odds of 20-1 or more who will make amazing runs. Anyone supporting these long-distance shots can hit the nail on the head. You can only see them here.
