Redditor CrafterWong shared a photo of their simplified 3D paper versions of Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Each figure features a small body, large head and stocky limbs to evoke the game’s classic chibi aesthetic. pokemon graphics. The result is three adorable independent sculptures that manage to incorporate a surprising level of detail despite being made entirely of paper. Each figure features various printed details, but the Pokémon’s shape is created through clever folding techniques.

CrafterWong is very talented, but they seem to have taken some creative liberties with this early trio’s designs. In the photograph, a small Sprigatite is shown with a straight cheek to accommodate the fact that paper does not tend to fold well. Fuecoco’s figure focuses so much on its head that the Pokémon’s feet appear to have completely disappeared, although fans might find that doesn’t affect the creature’s cuteness much. Meanwhile, Quaxly’s design appears to have been simplified down to just a white duck wearing what appears to be a blue sailor hat.

Despite the changes made, CrafterWong’s work seems to have been well received by other fans. One reason for this could be that the artist added a link to their website, where they uploaded the model and 3D models for these projects. This means that interested pokemon fans can simply make their own paper figures of Sprigato, Fuecoco and Quaxly. Several fans also noted that the decision to make the figures look like low-res polygon models was a good one, as it apparently adds a stylized touch to the designs. It probably also makes it easier to capture the round Pokemon shapes in paper art.

pokemon scarlet and Tolet are scheduled to be released in late 2022 for the Switch.
