信号通路研究

Cell signaling is the process by which cells communicate with each other, or with their environment and respond to external cues that they sense there. Cell signaling involves a series of signal transduction. From signal provided by the first messenger (i.e., the growth factor or other signaling molecule) to binding of first messenger to their receptors and triggering downstream protein modifications mediated by specific enzymes such as protein kinases, different intracellular responses were activated including recruitment and activation of linker or scaffolding proteins, modification of GTP-coupled proteins, and finally the mobilization of transcription factors for gene activation/repression in the nucleus.
