Skyrim player kills Grelod by throwing weapons at her

A Skyrim player finds an interesting method of killing Grelod the Kind without lifting a finger or raising suspicion from the guards.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim it may be over a decade old at this point, but the game’s popularity remains high. The title most recently appeared on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S when Bethesda released the Skyrim Anniversary Edition. While the world has been explored countless times, that hasn’t stopped players from exploring various bugs found in the old RPG.

One such stunt revolves around Grelod the Kind, an elderly woman in skryim who runs the Honorhall Orphanage in Riften. A mission presented to the Dragonborn throughout the game’s story is to eliminate her for terrorizing the children she is employed to protect. How Elder Scrolls V allows players to determine the approach taken to this task, players will generally choose a more direct approach. This often draws the attention of nearby guards, meaning players must assess the situation carefully or risk being attacked.

For this, a player found an interesting way to eliminate NPCs without causing suspicion. Post a video on Skyrim Subreddit, Walter-fring manages to kill Grelod simply by dropping various weapons on the NPC. The clip shows the player jumping in and quickly opening the inventory, and from here, selecting several large items that are thrown at Grelod, killing her instantly.

Despite being in sight of the incident, a guard who witnessed the event hilariously warns of the dangers of leaving weapons lying around. After apologizing to one of Skyrim’s more oblivious NPCs, the player is sent with no repercussions of the crime to respond.

The Redditor goes on to note that death is achieved because every item in the game is programmed to deal damage. The amount of damage depends on how much boost is gained before hitting someone. As Grelod’s HP is so low, it only requires the slightest touch of a few items to finish her off. This method did not appear to affect the player’s last move. Skyrim like they’re trying a pacifist race where no deaths are officially recorded. This trick makes the feat of seeing Grelod even more impressive.

Skyrim It’s been a popular RPG ever since it launched in 2011, and with players still finding new tricks, it’s almost certain that there will be more fun quirks to be discovered in the future. With Bethesda currently working on the long-awaited Elder Scrolls VIplayers expect to be able to approach the new game with the same levels of freedom.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – Anniversary Edition is now available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
