Smart Minecraft fan makes fully functional basketball court

A Minecraft player decides to pursue his dreams in the world of blocks, creating a basketball court using very simple materials and methods.

Now more than a decade removed from its release, Minecraft remains the de facto sandbox survival game for all ages and types of players. Between Microsoft’s ongoing support through updates, the extensive list of craftable items, and the nearly limitless level of creativity, Minecraft reinvented sandbox games and is now a definitive example of them.

Because of the creativity factor, over the years players have found ways to create more unique works of art, as well as more impressive pieces of technology and machinery. From a fleet of replicas of Minecraft From star destroyers to entire cities to fully functional cars or tanks, players continue to reinvent as well as come up with new ideas to push the limits of the game’s creativity even further.

A popular creation within the game is the creation of minigames. Some servers are entirely dedicated to player-created game modes that range from Hunger Games-style battle royales to recreations of Frogger and crossy road inside Minecraft. Getting these modes to work correctly takes a lot of time and effort, especially on larger servers where players can now queue up as if they were playing call to action. However, a player recently managed to use a simple set of items to recreate the game of basketball.

Using wooden planks, obsidian, pressure plates, slime blocks, item funnels, and red dye, Reddit user GenericRedstonGenius was able to create a complete basketball court that allowed them to shoot a hoop to score, as well as jump high into the air. to score. Although it’s not as complicated as Minecraftthe version of Pac Manthe creation of GenericRedstonGenius would easily allow for a full court game with teams vying for the win.

Using the red dye as the ball, teams would attempt to jump between each other and the hoops in hopes of “stealing” the red dye when a player threw it; this would make an exciting save, especially when two players jump into the air for a shot. However, to ensure that players do not simply run up and down the court without consequences, passing rules could perhaps be made.

Perhaps the coolest thing about GenericRedstonGenius’ basketball is that it’s so simple that it can be performed in survival mode with ease. Many creations as one Minecraft recreating the UK’s houses of parliament would take centuries to do without the creative mode; however, GenericRedstonGenius’ basketball game is simple and fun, making it a really cool and easily repeatable creation that any player can enjoy.

Minecraft is now available for mobile, PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
